1. Who we are

BiharDirectory (“we”) operates www.bihardirectory.com, a local business discovery platform for Bihar, India. For any privacy matter, contact our Grievance Officer (details below).

2. What we collect and why

Business listings: business name, category, address, phone/WhatsApp number, services, hours — provided by the business owner to create a public listing and webpage. This information is published by design.

Enquiries: your name, phone number and message — collected only to pass your enquiry to the business you chose. We do not sell this data or share it with any other business.

Technical data: standard server logs (IP, browser type) used for security and abuse prevention, retained for a limited period.

3. Consent

By submitting a listing or enquiry you consent to the specific use described at the point of collection. You may withdraw consent and request deletion at any time via the Grievance Officer.

4. Storage & security

Data is stored on servers located in India (Mumbai region). We apply industry-standard controls: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, row-level security on databases, rate limiting, and audit logging. No card or payment credentials are stored by us.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, and to nominate a person to exercise your rights. Write to the Grievance Officer; we respond within the timelines prescribed by law.

6. Retention

Listing data remains public while the listing is active. Enquiry data is retained for 12 months for dispute resolution and then deleted. Log data is retained up to 90 days.
