Cookie Policy

1. The short version

By default Bihar Directory uses only strictly-necessary cookies and browser storage — to run features you asked for: signing in, keeping your language, completing a payment. The one optional item is Google Analytics, which we load only if you tap “Accept” on the cookie banner. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no selling of data.

2. What we store

Login session (Supabase auth token, local storage) — keeps you signed in. Cleared on sign-out.

Preferences (language English/Hindi, chosen district, saved businesses — local storage) — remembers your choices on your own device. Never sent to advertisers.

Payment — during checkout, Razorpay sets cookies of its own strictly to process the payment and prevent fraud. See Razorpay’s privacy policy.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*, kept up to 14 months) so we can count visits and see which pages and buttons help people find businesses — for example, how many people tapped “Call” on a listing. We turn off Google signals and ad personalisation, never send your name, phone number or messages, and use the reports only to improve Bihar Directory. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. If you choose “Only essential”, Google Analytics never loads.

4. Managing storage

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, or use the app’s “Clear data” option. Doing so signs you out and resets preferences; the site keeps working.

5. Changes

If we ever add other analytics or advertising technology, this page will be updated first and consent taken as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Questions: info@bihardirectory.com.
